And Once Again

After the oil boom then bust in the '80's, diversification was the plan for the city. No more dependence on the oil industry to keep this area alive.
I hear the locals tell me we are not dependant on the oil industry. I look around at my neighbors and count the ones employed by the big oil companies and the ancillary support workers. We remain attached at the hip. This article in the NYTimes indicates the same.

Higher education cuts, health and social services cuts and Medicaid cuts are looming. I'm watching.
